  1. Shannon Says:

My sister bought one a couple of months ago and has been boasting about it - how easy to use, good results blah blah blah… After much temptation, I ordered one for myself last week. It isn’t too expensive so it isnt much of a risk to me.

Someone just posted her results yesterday at http://hairremovalreview.org/. No harm checking it out.

  2. Rainy Says:

I’m wondering as well. Is it good or bad, and if it has any side effects.

  3. Dr Kamlen Pillay Says:

Although Xemo’s website gives a convincing account of their technologies ability to reduce hair, I am sceptical about its true abilities for a number of reasons.

Firstly lasers, diode lasers included, are dangerous equipment and require an operator with training and experience to be safely and effectively operated. Thus I find it extremely unlike that the FDA would aprove such an item for unsupervised home use.

Secondly diode lasers are extremely expensive to produce and most reputable laser companies market their diode lasers to doctors and trained laser techs in the region of $20 000-$30000, so again its unlikely to have such a product to the end user for $150-200.

Thirdly, Xemos doesnt allow you to post your review directly on to their website, I have tried a number of times to post comments on their website but to date none have appeared.

These considerations leaves me sceptical and would therefor advise people to be wary.

  4. Rex Says:

Dear Doctor, please get your facts right…

FDA HAS in fact approved laser hair removal for home use. E.g. TRIA laser hair remover. It is expensive for a home laser hair remover but still not as expensive as those professional laser hair remover systems. Which leads to the moot point of your second point.

Stop spamming forums of genuine consumers wanting to know about the product with your false information that you copy and paste over and over again.

As for the rest of us wanting to know… My girlfriend has been using Xemos for the last few weeks and is happy with it. I am tempted to ask her to try it on my neck.

  5. Mina Moe Says:

I seem to agree with Dr Kamlen Pillay

It seems a little too good to be true and all the reviews I have read seem too sugar coated. After reading Rex’s aggressive response he also sounds like he is part of the Visol family?

Weird reply Rex, hope they pay you well.

  6. 8bitguy Says:

Rex, I’m sorry but i would believe the doctor, for a number of reasons.

Firsly the doctor has stated valid points, which by and large seem to make sense. I’ve been for laser hair removal and they do need a qualified operator, if they were using the same laser as the one in beautians, serious damage could be done. if anybody can use it then I would imagine a very weak laser would be used.

Getting proper laser hair removal is painful!!! So if this laser is not painful then you might as well shine a light over some hair growth. It is more likely that these home laser removal system don’t work. It just makes sense on every level.

And finally rex, are you the spammer, why are you so piss off at the doctor?

  7. Bonnie Says:

I can’t join the debate of whether the Xemos works or not. I ordered this product from visol.com over a month ago and have still not received it — the company is a SCAM. They have a slick website and are advertising all over facebook — but no one other than these company reps posting raving reviews has ever received the product. They take your money and promise you’ll have it “in 10 days”. Well, 10 days has passed several times and after sitting on hold for over an hour - they tell you it’s being shipped out “in 10 days” or you’ll have your refund “in 10 days”. Please don’t make my mistake — these people are thieves and will steal your money! Buyer Beware!

  8. Jasmine Says:

yeah, even me I ordered xemos 1month ago and still my order is not yet being ship and they are saying that there are some problem with the shipment, blahblah.. so you have to beware…

  9. Geoff Says:

    Dear Rex,
Please take a course in reading comprehension.

The doctor was questioning the effectiveness of the laser based on what is known about the diode lasers. In other words, it’s *unlikely* the company is using the best available technology and his second point is not moot but actually quite relevant.

Skepticism is a good thing. Try to keep up.

  10. Hannah Says:

Bonnie, that is an incorrect statement. I actually received my Xemos just two weeks ago. I ordered mine in the first week of July and had to wait a month for it. Am I mad about the wait? YES OF COURSE! I shot them emails everyday after a week and called them repeatedly. I would put them on speaker and go do other stuff around the house. Whenever I had conflicting information I would be assertive and ask them to clarify. As a consumer we have to do ourselves a favor and do that rather than blame companies who honestly couldn’t care less. They gave me a refund on my shipping - a few days later than promised - but better than never. Having talked to real people back and forth, received free shipping and actually holding the product in my hand, I can tell you and everyone that this company is NOT A SCAM. They just need to work on their information relay and possibly logistics. It is your consumer right to chase them for what you have paid for.

  11. Bonnie Says:

Have to love there new legal page they put up. especialy section 6 subpoint D

“You agree that time is not of the essence for delivery, however, time for payment of all Outstanding Amounts is of the essence.”

Definately buyer beware. If you don’t mind paying $249 for something and it taking 3 months + to get it then it might be a good thing. I however Like to get what I paid for in a timely manner and not get empty promises and lies about when it shipped out and supposed refunds of charges that never happen.

  12. Regina Says:

    Hello everyone,
Comments of the esteemed Dr are misinformed. There are consumer laser devices for pain relief and other applications ranging from $100 to over $10,000. It is horses for courses, and remember that generally speaking (though not always), you get what you pay for.

I have no experience of Visol, but let me say this. Anyone who pays for a product by credit card and does not receive it, is fully covered by the credit card company. So, if Viso does not respond, contact your CC company for refund. They will claw back the money from the supplier.

Like any product, some people are satisfied with it and others are not. Visol offers you 60 days money back guarantee, so if you are not happy, return the goods. If you don’t get the refund from Visol, contact your CC company.

  13. Phlep Says:

I too ordered XEMOS over 6 weeks ago

I have been told once, it had shipped and I would receive it soon, then I have been told 3 times, it will ship in 3-7 days, and once I will hav in in my hands in 5-7 days….. Well, almost 2 months later… nothing yet :(

If i was told it would take 2-3 months, I could handle that, its being lied to that is not acceptable… AVOID THEM

  14. Dr Kamlen Pillay Says:

Dear Rex, Mina Moe, 8bitguy, Regina, Geoff, Bonnie, Hannah

Firstly, please excuse my late response.

Perhaps I should clarify my statement regarding the existence of “home hair removal lasers”.
I do not purport to dispute the fact that home lasers exist, nor that the FDA have not approved such devices.

Many laser devices exist, are FDA approved (eg. Laser Pointers, Laser Printers etc) and are safe to use at home.

My point is that the EFFECTIVENESS of hair removal lasers are almost directly proportional to the amount of energy (FLUENCE) the laser can deliver to the Melanin contained within the hair root/follicle.

High Fluence lasers are expensive and dangerous (in untrained hands) and therefore unlikely to be FDA approved (although the FDA are known to do some strange things from time to time) for home use.

So in summary, the difference between these FDA approved “Home Use Lasers” is not necessarily in the number of pulses that the device can produce but rather in the strength (fluence) of these pulses.

Without becoming too technical and going into laser physics, Xemos’ device is unlikely to be able produce the fluences required for hair removal.

At the risk of sounding cynical, this is probably why so many people on this forum haven’t received their device yet.

Again, I caution unsuspecting consumers to be wary of such devices.

    Regards
    Kamlen Pillay

Rex please also forgive my lack cyber etiquette by cutting and pasting my comments on two forums that are discussing the same questions. On the count of being technically unsavvy , I plead guilty.

  15. tokanos Says:

Latest update, they have removed Xemos from their site..can’t keep up with the demand I suppose..

  16. John Says:

It appears visol has shut its doors… After months of waiting, I finally got my money back from my credit card company. I heard people who paid by PayPal have managed to get their money back by filing a dispute.

  17. Karen Says:

Yup it appears they have shut down their site. I had ordered xemos on 30th august and then had the arse luck of ordering another one on 1st sept when I tried to input the so-called discount code!! So I ended up ordering 2 of the same product. I just filed a dispute with PayPal. Hope i get my money back. I guess no point saying please avoid buying as they have shut down their site anyways.

  18. nervine Says:

I too ordered one around mid July and haven’t received it, nor have I had any contact from the company though i’ve emailed them a number of times

  19. Marcus Says:

Please don’t do business with Visol, they scammed me out of money and it seems their accont is closed. PayPal can’t recover anything yet since July.

  20. Calbha Says:

Hey friends. Just to make you aware of a company called visol having their website address as www.visol.com. I have paid $284.90 USD for their Xemos laser hair remover including courier charges, thru paypal on 18th August vide Receipt Number: 0388-8014-0174-9141 and visol order no. 7693. After a week of the purchase the status in their website changed to ready for shipping and till last week the status was still the same. I have sent several emails to them after that and everytime there is a automated message that somebody will get in touch with me but unfortunately nobody replied back. This week their website is down and it seems they have not renewed their IP address and it seems they have shut their door. The funniest part is even Paypal is not replying to my emails. Would you believe in Paypal anymore?

You may find a lot of the guys claiming that they have no problems with the company and received their iterms as ordered but I think they are also part of the same network and helping the company to con the potential customers.

Please don’t buy anything from www.visol.com thru Paypal or any other means untill you hear from me.

  21. NELSON D'MELLO Says:

I am in the same boat as you are Calbha, I too orderd on the 12th of August, 09 and still no sign. I too received the automated reply and the site is down.

How do we go about getting our money?? Can anybody help us?? $ 284.90 USD is a lot of money and I think some action should be taken on companies such as these. Please help anyboay!!!

  22. Donna Says:

Same here. also ordered, site down, what now???
if it’s going to take longer, rather let me know. if i’m not going to get it at all, then GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!

  23. seema Says:

I was stupid to believe Visol and now nothing can be done.

  24. Ansa Says:

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems with Visol Company. I’ve been considering getting a home hair removal laser kit a while now and came across the Xemos at the virol website a couple of months back. Almost got one but decided to wait and do more research. I am glad now I didn’t purchase anything from them. I have read somewhere that Visol have changed their website to vilay.com….is that true? I checked out the website – it does look the same!

  25. Michelle Says:

I purchased the Xemos on August 6th, and have not received it yet. I have called, no answer. Have emailed, no response except for the automated one. Website has been down for a while. This company is clearly closed. I called my credit card company today and requested a chargeback. Hopefully they will do that!

  26. Meenu Says:

I too purchased in mid July and kept following up every week with them. They kept saying they have logistic problem.. Did they say this to everyone? Finally, they refunded the shipping cost, but I haven’t yet received the package! Has anyone called them yet?

  27. Liza Says:

PLEASE BE AWARE! Please don’t do business with Visol, I purchased their hair removal deviced on August 13th, as of today I am still waiting for a response to the question of where is the product. It’s been a few weeks taht I discovered that their website was down. I waited a little bit, so I did filed a claim with PayPal. Great! The complain was in my favo, the only thing that PayPal can’t refund me my $200++ since they can’t get their money from Visol. I am very upset at this company.

Please pass your word if you have been scammed.

  28. wen Says:

i have bought something from www.visol.com too, cost me more than $500, damn they are scam!
I will try to do charge back from my bank credit card see how they can help!!

  29. anne Says:

Anybody know what happen to Vital Solutions (ViSol)? As i bought Xemos laser hair remover from them but until today have no respond from them at all.

  30. abby Says:

I bought Xemos hair remover few months ago and I’ve gotten it actually. It took around one month but at least the product reached me. However, I’m too busy to try it out and after reading this, I’m quite worry to do so. Is the product safe?

  31. Karen Says:

It seems that Xemos laser is not happening for many of us! I bought one on-line 2 months ago and am still waiting for it. Having read the comments posted, it seems we have all been experiencing the same frustrations. I checked the website tonight and instead of the usual “under construction” message, they now have a message stating that all sales have been suspended in order to avoid bankruptcy.

  32. Joe Says:

Folks, Visol and Vilay have ripped off hundreds of people to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars!. The guy behind the scam is Vadim (Michael) Verveda.

It is very important that you make a report at FBI.Gov on their IC3 website, the more people reporting, the more they try to find him and the longer he goes to jail for.

Also note that Verveda monitors these boards and uses various names to tell people his products work. The good Doctor is right, the Xemos Laser made by BNB Medical is nearly useless, the professional Lasers use a lot more power than a handheld device and even then the hair loss is not permanent.

  33. Sabina Says:

I ordered Xemos on 4th august. got automated responses for the first few days and now the company doesnt seem to exist. it was the first time i ordered anything online.i feel screwed.i’m from india and my credit card company tells me there is no way to get the refund..sob sob

  34. Beth Says:

I bought xemos hair removal from www.visol.com on July 2009. Until now i havent received the product. i have been following it up with Visol and i havent got any repsonse. I also made a claim to Paypal & they closed my case because the seller is uncontactable. Why did Paypal accepts fraudulent transactions!!!

  35. Tinkerbell Says:

Paypal couldn’t help me as I had waited for this product for so long (2 months) to file a dispute :( BUT, i called my Credit Card company… and I’m happy to say that within 3 weeks I got my money back!!! it’s sitting in my bank account as we speak! RELIEF!!! :D

People, inform your CC asap!! provide evidence that you have tried to contact the merchant… VISOL is a SCAM!! PLS dnt trust these guys!!!

and for those who couldn’t get their money back, i feel for you :( I was almost in tears when I knew i had made a mistake!! ACT FAST… LET YOUR CC KNOW!!! or PayPal - you can file a dispute.. but do it if you have waited less than 45 days!!

    GOOD LUCK!

  36. mememe Says:

Hey guys, actualy all the people and the Dr. is correct. The FDA has approved laser hair removers SILKN EPIL is one. Yes the strength is not what it is in a professional office. ie: as tylenol is to codiene but it does work. The Silkn is cool and it worked on me. I did not go to a professional so I can not compare but I do not shave the pits anymore. I used it under one arm 3 times just to see and it I have not had to shave since…For a home use product and much cheaper than the pro’s.. it’s cool.

  37. Dave Says:

    Hey Guys,

We just found the old Visol.com people are running a new scam. You can find them at www.slimray.net.
The guy might be running under a new name but I know it is them.

    Dave

  38. Felicia Says:

    Hey Everyone,

Wow, Seems I had purchased the Viseo product before they decided to scam everyone (thhank goodness)…Anyway, it did take a while for me to ge the product but it did come, I remember calling them about it. When it did arrive it looked like it had come from Korea and in a beat up box. But everything else was fine with it.
Sadly to say, I have only tried to use it once because when I used it I wasnt sure if I was doing it right, I told myself I would call them to ask but remembering when I called them about shipment, i just put the box away and said I would do it later. Now, about a year later, remembering about I see all these posts and that the website doesnt exit anymore. So… I was wondering if anyone has any info, Since I paid for it I would like to give it a shot and see if it actually does work.
What I wasnt sure of was when you press the button for the pulse do you have to keep pointed on a single hair for the three pulses. Will it still work if you do one pulse and move on, it just seems too tedious and time consuming if that is the case. Any info would be appreciated.

    Felicia

  39. Ruth Says:

    Hi everyone,

I wish to add my input to this - I have not read all the comments, there are too many, but I will give my facts as I not only use Xemos myself, but have imported an entire batch.

Felicia - no, you do not point the laser for the full 3 pulses, but for 0.5 to 1 second only. This enables you to move the laser around faster. See info below and if you have any questions, mail me on FaceBook.

Firstly, I would like to inform everyone that I am based in South Africa and that I am a business person who research many business opportunities. I am not a spammer – in case anyone is thinking that. Also, I will be pasting this very same piece on all the blogs where complaints have been made regarding Xemos – as apposed to having to type an entire piece all over again on each blog. :)

I too, have been stolen from, by Michael Vervada and his non-existing company(ies) called Visol/Vilay when I ordered my Xemos Laser Hair Removal System of which I saw the ad on FaceBook. I was very upset at the fact that I had been schemed - this has never happened to me before. Here in SA we are behind the rest of the world – I guess scheming is not that big here yet. (Or perhaps I was just privileged to never have been schemed by a fellow citizen before).

In trying to find Verveda, I came across the manufacturer of the Xemos Laser Hair Removal System and have dealt with them via e-mail. I was informed by my supplier, that their company have suffered a great deal, due to Verveda’s scheming and the negative comments it attracted.

Nonetheless, I have ordered a batch of the Xemos Laser Hair Removal Systems, which I am selling in South Africa.

I am also using the system on my boyfriend and myself. Before importing the Xemos, I have had laser hair removal done in a local clinic. Some years before that, I had five sessions done on my bikini line. Because of the excellent results I got, I looked into getting the Xemos system for myself and also to sell in South Africa. For obvious reasons, I have extended my knowledge regarding lasering by reading much about it and I can now also add experience, as we have used it for only a few months now.

Unlike the systems in salons, it does take a little more time. But unlike the cost of salon treatments, it is much cheaper. What makes the Xemos great, is that you have it on hand, to laser whenever you need to or have time to. Like with industrial machines, several treatments are required as hair has different stages and is required to be in the growing stage, when lasering is done.

The result on my boyfriend’s chest, after only three sessions, has been very good. The hair will still continue to grow until sufficient treatments have been given. The hair in the treated area grows back finer and much slower and there are areas where the hair has stopped growing all together. We have only lasered a small section on his chest, in order to do a comparison. Other lasering is being done in the meantime.

I will admit, that it is slightly painful – depending on each individual’s pain threshold. I, for example, can handle a longer session than my boyfriend. ;) It could be because his hair is more coarse, that it is slightly more painful. Perhaps also because he admits to not handling any pain very well. However, the discomfort experienced, is temporarily felt as the laser hits the follicle. After that, the pain is gone. Unlike waxing, where the skin remains red, sensitive and sometimes even slightly swollen for the rest of the day. There may be some redness after lasering, however, that goes away soon. Again, people are all different and may experience lasering differently.

It is important that users use the Xemos correctly. I must admit, the Manual does not give all the information a hundred percent: i.e. using the laser for only 0.5 to 1 second, instead of the entire three seconds. That is perhaps why some users burn themselves. I make a point of informing my clients how to correctly use the Xemos and I also mail them an addition to the manual. The information that I send them, are questions that I have asked the manufacturer and on which they have replied.

What I have written here, is true and out of personal experience. I am a very honest person and have read in some blogs that people selling Xemos, are inconsiderate, selfish people who only want to take other’s money. That is so far from the truth. I specifically imported this product in order to help fellow South African’s.

Should you wish to check my authenticity, please have a look at the profile I created on FaceBook. It is called Xemos S-Africa (as apposed to Verveda’s Xemos Home Laser Hair Removal System. I have made a post on his profile stating that it was a scam and that I do not form a part of it).

On my profile, you can see result pictures of my boyfriend’s chest. We’ve just done the fourth treatment and he shaved all his chest hair after. I will be taking pictures on a daily basis, to record the hair growth on the area treated versus the untreated area. After a few days, I will post the pics on FaceBook.

I hope that my input has cleared much of the uncertainty regarding the Xemos Laser Hair Removal system.

Hope you all have a great day further.

    Regards,

    Ruth

PS: I also wish to mention that Xemos is CE Certified. This means (courtesy of Wikipedia):

“The CE marking (also known as CE mark) is a mandatory conformity mark on many products placed on the single market in the European Economic Area (EEA). The CE marking certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements. CE stands for Conformité Européenne, “European conformity” in French.”
