I pierced my belly button myself about 8 week ago , and everything was fine. For the first few weeks it looke perfectly normal and i was cleaning it regularly w/ the stuff they give you when you get your ears pierced. Then it starteg getting all dark around the holes. I didn't know what to think about that and I just kept cleaning it the way i was. Now there's some raised skin around the bottom hole and there's this yellow mucusy discharge coming out of it. Not a lot , just a little and it dries up around the bar. It doesn't look normal at all and i don't know what to do. A friend of mine said the raised skin might be the starting of a raised scar and might be permanent. Could that be possible ? I have recently been putting Neosporin on it and I don't know if that's helping or not. What can I do to get it back to normal ? I did change the ring but that was after the raised skin and all that other nonsense appeared.
